I get a kick out of the commercial for the new dvd about the 100 years of the Montreal Canadiens! In the ad for the dvd, they refer to the Habs as "one of" the most storied franchises in the NHL! One of? That's like saying the Yankees are "one of" the most storied franchises in baseball! I know the Habs haven't won a Cup in a while, but they still have at least twice as many as any other team, and the team next in line hasn't won it in 43 years! Okay, I'm not just saying this because I'm a Habs fans, as it wouldn't matter who the team was, and I'm also no fan of the Yankees but if that was said about them it would also sound very stupid! This is something even the Hab-haters can't deny, but I'm sure many will try to! In fact, if you listen really closely, you can hear the scratch of crayons against paper as they get their responses ready! But then again, a person has to be very narrow-minded and childish to be a "hater" of a sports team to begin with! Regardless of what's happened in the past decade and a half, I challenge anyone to name a franchise as storied in NHL history! I'm sure this message will die of old age before anyone responds!

how about since expansion in 67.thats when it changed from a game to business.i would rank(but i hate to say it)the oilers 5 cups in 7 years as a pretty big feat.to a lesser extent the isles 5 stanley cups final appearances in a row and 19 straight playoff series victories and the playoff upset of the pens and mario in seven games as no easy feat.you cant compare baseball for years they only took 4 teams to the playoffs.football is only a one game winner take all but the niners where pretty good in the montana years.even the celtics of the nba had some strong teams in the bird mchale eras.

reider, if myself or another Habs fan made a comment like that(obituary), we'd be called every variation of the word "classless" by you and every other Hab-hater!
