| As a player you it is your responsibility to know the rules of the game. Please find the revised rules for the 2010 season under the heading "League Rules." Tuesday, in a scrimmage against Red on the final play, I was going for Anthony Acho's flag when my finger got caught in his pocket. The result after the x-ray shows I have a fractured bone in my right hand. I am out a minimum of six weeks luckily for me, I did not rupture my tendon or I would be looking at surgery and three months of recovery. Injuries happen to athletes, they are apart of sport and some are just unavoidable. Consider both of Tyson's achilles, Kejbou's jaw, etc those are casualties of the game. However, this injury to my finger is one that could have been avoided if we all follow and respect the rules. Therefore, if any player steps on the field with shorts that have pockets on them, they will be asked to return to the sidelines until they can find a pair of shorts without pockets. YOU CANNOT PLAY WITH SHORTS THAT HAVE POCKETS PERIOD. You will not be permitted to tape your shorts moving forward, as in the past, the tape has easily been pulled off or falls off during the course of the game. This rule will be heavily enforced throughout the season to avoid another loss of a player on any team. We are here to compete and play for the Chy Cup, not to sit in a doctors office and get x-rays over a fuckin pocket.
Again, expect not to play if your shorts have pockets on them.
Contact me directly with any questions, comments or concerns.
And congrats to Anthony Acho for signing a contract to play ball overseas. In just a few short days you managed to ruin my season and that of team Red's...
