Entry #: 3553613
Red Beats Green for First Win, 20-14

Offensive Player of the Game: Mike Akrawi, 17-30 for 208 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT
Defensive Player of the Game: Anthony Toma, 3 rec 14 yards 1 TD, 2 tackles and 2 INTs

Red Coach Anthony Toma made sure his players were on time for the start of the early game on Sunday, and QB Mike Akrawi proved ready to win his first CFL game. He marched his team all over Green in a game that also brought the reunion of Toma and Home Depot enthusiast Joey Kejbou back together.

Many were questioning the trade made by Toma, but it proved to work this morning as Kejbou played well with 3 rec for 45 yards, 1 TD, 3 tackles and 1 INT. Looks like the team Red of a few years ago, only difference now is Toma and Kejbou discuss diapers and sippy cups while strategizing.

Key Play:

A questionable decision by Green QB Justin Orow, with 15 seconds left in the first half, to throw the ball downfield to Green Coach Tony Attisha. Kejobu was able to intercept the ball and give his team a great opportunity to score at the end of the half.

The following play, with 3 seconds remaining, Akrawi found Kejbou, who made a great play on the ball in the end zone for a 25 yard score over Orow. It was a tough sequence of events and day for Orow.

Red 1-3 meets Black 4-0 in the primetime slot at 9:30 while Green 1-3 will take on Blue in the late game

Game Notes…Veteran Peter Rabban, following a great performance in which he contributed 6 rec for 95 yards and 1 TD was traded to Blue for Nolan Karrumi on Tuesday…Orow had a pick 6 on Akrawi but also threw 3 INTs on the day…Derek Dickow made his season debut after a finger injury and added 1 tackle…Matt Shango added 2 sacks and no personal fouls…shotout to Mark Adamo and Pierre Bacall for assisting with stats.

Yellow Rolls Over Blue, 26-12

Offensive Player of the Game: Natham Karrumi, 14-16 for 170 yards 4 TDs and 5 rush for 66 yards
Defensive Player of the Game: Tyson Yono, 3 sacks, 1 tackle

Can’t speak too much on this game because I didn’t see it, but from the looks of it a few things are clear for Team Yellow:

Yellow QB and Coach Natham Karrumi had a great game completing 87.5% of his passes
Tyson Yono has a regular season game high 3 sacks
Ernest Yeldo played well, 5 rec for 76 yards and 1 TD
Rookie Peter Namou had 5 tackles and knows how to pull flags
Sinan Abdal caught 2 TDs with 1 knee

Now for Blue:
Rookie Vinny Kejbou had 5 rec for 65 yards
Ray Lousia was on time
Sal Kesto still has great hair (he’s the richest)
After a great game last week, Nolan Karrumi quit on his team Sunday
Max Sheker is fast, 2 rec 62 yards for 1 TD

Yellow 2-2 will play White 3-1 in the early game next week and Blue 1-3 will play Green also 1-3 in the late game.

Game Notes…Zeer traded his older brother Mike Zeer and Kelsey Bashi to Green for Nader Jiddou and Derek Dickow…Also traded as of 4pm on Tuesday was Karrumi for Peter Rabban…Mike Zeer, who has been out with a herniated disk the last couple of weeks, was traded to Green and will start at QB…shotout to Pierre Bacall for assisting with the stats.

Black Stays Perfect, Tops White, 13-6

Offensive Player of the Game: Tarik Kama, 13-19 for 138 yards 2 TDs and 2 INTs
Defensive Player of the Game: Marvin Yeldo, 6 tackles, 1 sack, 2 INTs (in a losing effort)

“We are!” said Black QB and Coach Tarik Kama. “They know who are and that’s all that needs to be said,” referencing who the best team in the league is after the game.

Kama, who took a lot of flack even by his own players the night of the draft, has really done a great job getting his team to buy into his plans thus far. They play unified and with no pretentions about whom the star is on this team. It is undoubtedly their leader Kama, entering his 10th year, whose intensity is clear and infectious to his players on the field. He also has a very nice headband to keep his ponytail in order.

Their defense is led by rushers Dylan Putrus and rookie Aws Ayar. Pay attention to the ageless wonder Karl “ok Derek f*ck my stats, but we’re 4-0, who cares? Crowns and steaks on Trock, he’s the richest shuck, and say something about my nephew Derek, he shut down everyone our defense was the best, I’m tellin you” Dallou.

Key Play:

Late in the game White QB and Coach Joey Jonna, 9-22 for 80 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 2 rush for 29 yards reversed the clock with “…a run for the ages” shaking and breaking the ankles of Dallou and two other Black defenders before having his flag pulled at the goal line. Jonna found the rookie Mike Sesi on the next play for the score.

But this was Black’s day and they are the lone undefeated team at the top.

Black is 4-0 and plays Red 1-3 in the primetime slot while White, 3-1 faces Yellow for the early game.

Game Notes…Kama registered no rushing yards on the day (don’t know if that was missed or if he really didn’t run?)…Rookies Derek Rabban and Ayar both registered a sack for the game…Marvin Yeldo, a new addition to White, had a terrific game defensively and it was an easy decision to award him Defensive honors even though White lost…”12-0 baby, Dylan take the red eye home perfect season! (Insert bbm beer icon here)” is Dallou’s bbm status…shotout to fearless JK for assisting with the stats.
