| The drive for five is alive. Earlier this year, I posted a message saying that Jimmie Johnson, before all is said and done, could possibly be the greatest driver in Nascar history. At that time, he had already won four consecutive Nascar championships. I stated that he has a very good chance of breaking Richard Petty's and Dale Earnhardt's record of seven Nascar titles before he hangs up the helmet. Somebody stated that Johnson would have to race "until he's 70" to break their record. Well, Jimmie must be in at least his early sixties by now. Only two more to go to tie. I don't know how many people realize this, but Jimmie only missed by a few points winning the title in 04 and 05. That would've tied him with "The King" and "The Intimidator" already. As anyone can tell you, it is so much more difficult to win a championship these days with the points system the way it. Also, the competition is so much more intense these days. Back in Richard's and Dale's day, there may have been a half dozen or so really good cars that had a legitimate chance of winning a race, not to mention a championship. Today, those numbers are easily doubled. Maybe now people will realize how great Jimmie is and give him the credit and respect he so richly deserves.

| The silence is deafening. When you're right you're right. I love making people eat crow.

| Don't know about that. The ones that made those comments a few months back seemed quite serious about it. It's not that I like Jimmie any more than anybody else. It's just that we are all witnessing something very special. Couldn't be happening to a nicer and classier guy.

| Why did he have to steal the #24 crew? Boyer was Dqed because Nascar wanted golden boy to win. With Nacscar he who has the most money wins and u know who that is??

| I know it would only be a matter of time before the whining and bitching shone through. They didn't "steal" the 24 crew. The 48 crew wasn't getting it done so the change was made. Very gutsy move if you ask me. Boyer was never a factor in the chase. Johnson and crew never get penalized because they very seldom if ever make mistakes. Rousch, Gibbs and Childress have at least as much money invested their race teams as Hendrick. Hendrick hires the best drivers(with the exception of Jr) and has the smartest people working for him. A great deal of Jimmie's success also has to do with Chad Knaus. But that goes back to Hendrick hiring the best people he can. Very intelligent owner. Right now, Jimmie is well on pace to break Petty's and Earnhardt's record, and alot of people don't like it. Back in the day, Earnhardt could get away with blue murder, yet his fans said nothing. Dale Sr always thought he was bigger than Nascar itself. Even the way he died was the result of a great deal of arrogance on his part, trying to block a whole pack of race cars for Jr and Waltrip. Nobody is so good that they can block about a half dozen cars. Too bad he died but it's hard to feel sorry for someone who refused to take safety seriously, by not wearing any kind of neck restaints and using an open-face helmet. That's the thing with Jimmie, he can win without driving dirty and he doesn't need Nascar in his back pocket. Even the "King" could be quite aggressive in his day. Instead of whining and bitching about Jimmie winning so much, people should appreciate what they're seeing, and that is somebody who when all is said and done will more than likely be the greatest driver in Nascar history. He may even already be. And he doesn't need to "intimidate" antbody to do it. Now think about THAT.

| While Jimmie Johnson isn't my favorite Nascar driver, there is no question he is the best driver in Nascar right now. Anyone who thinks otherwise is really stupid.
