Game 1
Green 2-0 vs White 2-0
Green Coach Tony Attisha, has done an impressive job aligning himself with players that have everything he used to have - speed, talent and (God Bless you in advance) strength. His team is flying all over the field and averaging one and a half pick six's per game.
Second year QB phenom Justin Orow is finding his groove and his primary targets Max “the” Sheker and speedster Anthony Yaldo early and often. Cousin Chris Roumayeh adds a veteran talent at the center position, while second year player Aws Ayar adds energy. John Sesi provides depth on defense and Pat Sesi (no relation) - to quote Eddie Murphy in Coming to America, “I am very happy to be here!” Attsiha then sought Ernest Yeldo for an added veteran all around player. It looks like Attisha's GM acumen is spot on, but let's see how they handle adversity this week against the defending champions.
Overall Green looks good on offense but without the defensive powerhouse Peter Namou, would they be the same team? Green proves once again, speed kills.
They will match up against Team White, led by Jonna, who if you missed it, proved in week one what heart means in the CFL. A bloody nose and a shoulder separation later, he led his team in the 4th quarter to beat a tough Black Team without their star Tim Acho.
Team White has many weapons at Jonna’s disposal. Second year star Mike Sesi and the Showstopper Jordan Rassam, make play after play on both sides of the ball while White’s role-players step in and up for each other. Lance Samona proved his worth and his status in last year’s championship game and Danny Shaba continues to be the most consistently reliable center in the game. For sport, or because their wives and kids are friends, Jonna added wily veteran Brian Najor (who looks like the Tucker of 05, before the Mike Zeer questions of “will Brian finally go to blocker?”) and CFL Legend JR Kizy, who proved he still likes a good old fashioned pancake breakfast (I love you Norm but brashed baba it was clean). Jonna then wisely added veteran Derek Dickow to ensure another free limo for the 2011 Chy Cup winners. “Huh? Unbelievable shuck.”
To secure his chances of a repeat, Jonna protected Nick “Hawk” Hermiz to lead his squad on defense after proving himself as “pound for pound” year in and year out.
This game promises to be a tough battle and the winner does three things – limit mistakes, pulls flags and scores more than the other (thanks John Madden).
Game 2
Black 1-1 vs Blue 1-1
I am shucked out.
But for the purposes of laughter –
Does Tarik Kama love Papa’s Pizza? In my opinion, to me…
Game 3
Red 0-2 vs Yellow 1-1
“I’m still under the belief that if you score 21 points or more in this league you should win.” Russ Smith
Anthony Acho, please bring the tent when it rains. Cups or no cups, Derek and Dylan bring the water every week.
Derek Putrus, “Happy’s Pizza chicken and ribs and shrimp taste so good…”
