| Round robin takes the excitement out of playoffs, why not have the top 8 teams play in an elimination playoff system?

| I definately agree with dccahmps. I was previously told by the soccer staff that a normal 8 team playoff formation was not feasible as we have been having 18 teams. This season we have 16 teams and there is no reason for not taking the top 8 teams and having a NORMAL playoffs format. I agree with dcchamps that the excitement is taken away when we do round robin playoffs. What is the reasoning behind avoided the elimination playoff format so many of us want? I understand this is a "recreational" league, but all other "recreational" leagues in the high desert and everywhere else use regular playoffs format as soccer is inevitably a competitive sport and most people who play it do so with the hope that it will be competitive. Round robin playoffs essentially removes the competitive aspect of soccer. It's not too late to change the format Victorville soccer staff as the first game is yet to be played.
Sorry for the long opinion.

| Main reason is in a playoff format, you must have a winner and that means pks.
There is not enough time in the day to do this unless we start games at around 9:00 instead of 11:00.
We also do not start any earlier than 11:00 in order to give people a chance to go to church.
We do have a tournament coming in March
