Congratulations to coach Tom McGovern and his players for winning the 7/8 grade girls league championship. The Mercury finished the regular season in fourth place but defeated the top-seeded Liberty and the second-seeded Sparks in the playoffs to capture the title. The Mercury defeated the Sparks 25-20 last night in the championship game. Nice job by the girls from both teams and from all the players on the four teams in the league this season. Hope to see the seventh-graders back next season. Good luck to the 8th graders next year in high school.
