We took 8 wrestlers up to Sedro this weekend and I was very impressed with the performance they were able to put together.

-Together they won 22 of 29 matches. (75%)

-They came home with 7 medals. (2 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze)

-Tied for 5th in team score

Notable individual Rhino performances:

-Rebecca wrestled in her second tournament ever. The first one wasn't enough and today she came back for more.

-Alex and Thomas competed in the same weight class and were one match away from wrestling against each other in the finals. Thomas lost in the semi's by 2 on a last second takedown. However Alex would go against the same kid in the finals and wrestled a very smart match to seal his 1st place finish. Thomas fought back well after his loss to take third. The Rhino's took 2 out of the 3 medals in this weight class.

-Devin Deewese decided to wrestle in his first USA wrestling tournament ever and he would wind up walking home with a silver medal. He won 4 of his 5 matches and was 1 very close match away from winning the his group.

-Hunter T. made quick work of his day. He pinned all 3 of his opponents to walk home with his gold medal.

As a coach I am very proud of all my athletes today. They wrestled smart and with a lot of technique.

Our next tournament isn't until a couple of weeks. This upcoming weekend I have to coach a gymnastics competition and the weekend after that is the weekend before christmas in which no tournaments are happening. That gives us a few weeks to sharpen our skills before our next tournament at the end of the month.

Results:
Alex R: 1st
Hunter T: 1st
Kaden G: 2nd
Christopher: 2nd
Devin: 2nd
Thomas: 3rd
Liam: 3rd

p.s. If you want to wrestle this upcoming weekend there is a tournament in Eatonville on Sunday. I cannot attend that tournament but a coach can get out there for you if you decided to compete.
