| Ok ladies, my silence has gone on long enough.
Since, we're into week 3 I won't provide a full preseason team by team analysis but I will provide some brief commentary and the preseason lines (to win it all) I provided to Tony were as follows:
Black 3.5 - 1 T-Rock did his usual excellent drafting with a great combo of athleticism, size, speed and veteran presence, unfortunately there is still the "T-Rock is a choke" stigma (I didn’t say it T, but I’m just sayin) and word is before he was even drafted Anthony Acho text T-Rock if he drafts him he wants to play QB.
White 5-1: One of the greatest QB-WR combos has been reunited, unfortunately the WR part of that combo is 4 steps slower (and wasn't fast to begin with) and has about 7 inches less on his vertical that was originally only about 9 inches. Fortunately, Joey Jonna accounted for that particular WR’s deficiencies and drafted our modern day CFL Clark Kent, his name doesn't even need to be specifically mentioned. It also doesn't hurt to have Norm doing his Ray Lewis on D and providing another thoroughbred on O.
Blue 5-1: At the time I set this line I thought this team had the potential to be the favorite but gave the slightly lower odds because having a first time captain with the combustible Jordan Rassam presented potential disaster. Fortunately for Blue, that captain is Justin Orow and he’s about as dynamic a QB/player we’ve ever seen, for the time being he is “fam” in Jordan’s eyes but may be just one missed screen to Jordan from being every expletive imaginable. In a huddle filled with potential chaos (I haven’t even mentioned Mazen “I should be worshipped on the field” Jaddou) Anthony Toma brings the veteran voice of reason, gulp. Mike Sesi is just constantly making my chants of “overrated” seem dumber and dumber with each passing game since last season, you have proved me wrong big fella, you can thank me later for the motivation.
Yellow 4-1: Nate’s speedy displays in softball over the last two months led me to believe he found the fountain of youth or got in touch with Alex Rodriguez’s biogenesis contact. Helping matters is that he drafted a heady defensive coordinator and performer in Hawk, one of my all time favorites. Combine that with his dawana brother Nolan and you got a hell of a core defense. Mike Sesi, since your overrated tag has been removed, it should be known that Pat Kinaia is the new holder of the title. For real Pat, how mad did that just make you? How bad can’t you wait til week 5 for White v. yellow now?
Team Green 15-1: How could a team with Ray Dawood, Anthony Yaldo and Sean Mattia be 15-1 to win it all? Simple, Tony (Attisha, remember him? Yes he still plays) has managed to maintain a stronghold on a captain position because he realizes that is his only key to remaining a two way player and either Jonna (Ethan or Tyler) has a bigger arm than Chuck at QB. Sean you did get me good last week but you still dropped that ball bum.
Red 25-1: This line has been adjusted to 437-1. Chris Zeer + Timmy Acho. Poor Max. In the words of Forest Gump, “that’s all I have to say about that”
This weeks lines
Blue -5.5 (I personally like Yellow in the upset special, certain old people on Blue are rumored to be missing this week’s game to sample Sutter Home wines and Nate is a man on a mission) and O/U 43
Black -4 (I like Green winning in honor of Ray Ray’s 18th born child this past week) O/U 37
White opened at -8 August 8 but has now escalated to -13 in light of rumors Timmy Acho will be benched, Derek Bahri asking to cover Superman (I am not even creative enough to make that up), and Max potentially missing the game because he had a job on the east side on August 5th and his whereabouts are unknown since.
