| We have passed the mid way point of the season and the playoff race is materializing. In these crucial last 4 games, there are a handful of players that are so integral to their team's success that they may make the MVP race just as exciting as the run for playoffs.
Yellow: Dylan Putrus -Dylan leads the league in touchdowns (7) and sacks (284). No but seriously, he has seven TDs and so many sacks that teams may just start triple teaming him. Yellow is facing an uphill battle now that Nate is hurt, but if Dylan continues to put the team on his back, they can never be counted out. Due to his ability to affect the game on both sides of the ball this season, Dylan gets my personal vote for MVP if the season ended today.
Red: Anthony Toma -AT has played QB, coach, center, General Manager, father, and line backer so far this year. With this sort of versatility and leadership, he must be considered for the most valuable player award. If Red pulls off some sort of magical run, it will be a direct result of AT's work, both in the spotlight and behind the scenes (at Uptown with Karl).
Blue: Jordan Rabban When asked why he has missed 3 games, Jordan responded by saying, "I thought Justin was good enough to just dominate, but clearly he's a mess when I'm not there. Enough is enough, I'll return to save him and his drowning ship. I gotta go buy another blue shirt, I think I misplaced mine since the last game I showed up to in July." After hearing this, I threw up a bit in my mouth and considered slapping young Jordan. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. I've been told Jordan sacked some one once at some point this season and has caught an extra point somewhere along the way too. Now, these occurrences may be as dreadfully rare as seeing an endangered snow leopard in the foothills of the Himalaya Mountains, but such a dominant impact is a lot for Blue to play without 3 times this year. Niko's multiple TD games are never enough to get Blue the W unless Jordan is there proclaiming loudly that he cannot be stopped.
White: Anthony Acho -Some may say, 'How can you not pick Sean!? He is playing great.' To that I would respond: To hell with him. Anyway, I have watched Acho progress very much from his initial days at QB. He used to be a run-first, panicky, fat, ugly, sad excuse for a quarterback. This year he is showcasing an incredible level of awareness, staying in the pocket or rolling out with his eyes downfield making great throws to his WRs. Acho has solidified himself as a true QB with his organized play calling and veteran decision making. Dealing with diva-like egos such as SM23's and Scotty "My Team" Acho is not easy to do, but Anthony has found a way to make it all click. He has been a playmaker all year and it doesn't look like it will step off the gas any time soon.
Green: Timmy Acho -Not picking Shango is foolish and disrespectful, I know. Seriously, shame on me. But let's just be a little bit QB-biased here. Shango can't throw to himself (maybe I'm wrong...) and the Mike Akrawi situation wasn't working out, so Lance shuffled the cards and ended up with Timmy Acho tossing the rock. Timmy has looked great in his two games for Green, making excellent decisions and setting his feet to ship the ball deep often. This was exactly what Green needed. They won a game too and are really no walk in the park for any opponent on any given Sunday. As Timmy Acho goes, Green goes. Good move Lance.
Black-Ernie -Black has been an up and down roller coaster ride this year in almost all aspects of the game, except one. There have been 0 bad snaps from Black's illustrious veteran center, Ernest. This level of perfection is not often seen in such a high pressure/high intensity league. Do we even have to talk about the miraculous catches on fourth downs or the wisdom to bring a towel to wipe the morning dew off the ball (since Black has played FIVE 8:15AM games)? Ernie has been a steady engine on Team Black, keeping them moving forward.
