I've played baseball from a very young age through high school in the spring, summer, and fall. Never went to college so I unfortunately don't have any experience at that level.
I moved from Connecticut several years back, but have only recently taken up practicing the sport again. With the encouragement of friends and family I'm finally putting myself out there and trying to to get back on the diamond.
Back in highschool I was known as a middling defender with a plus bat. I always sported a high average with plenty of slug, especially pull-side. Hopefully, with some effort, I can get back to that form once again.
While being only the third best Catcher in my school never got me as many reps behind the dish as I would've liked, my coaches usually found a way to keep me in the line up. Usually either as a corner outfielder or DH. I'd love the chance to try catching again, but since it's been some years, I imagine I might be better suited for an outfield position.
I live in Essaex Junction, so any team within the greater Burlington area would work well for me. (Essex, Winooski, Colchester, South Burlington, Williston, etc). I don't think I'm comfortable coaching yet. Maybe with some time and experience in the league, I'd be more open to the idea.

| My name is Ian McHugh and I'm 25 years old. I don't have any experience playing baseball besides playing in elementary school and going to the batting cages for fun recently but have been really interested in finding some way to play or even just be involved in the sport locally. I love competitive, challenging games and would be excited to learn to play the actual game beyond just knowing most of the rules. Not sure what someone in my position might expect to find but wanted to post here and give it a shot!

| 24 years old with decent speed, great contact and a strong arm. Played in JUCO in VT, graduating in 2024 and winning MVP honors while being named captain my senior year. Played semi indy briefly in 2025. I already made a post in the facebook free agency page, and very eager to play and have a good time this year!

-5’5” 145lbs
-Third baseman primarily but I am open to playing anywhere aside from catcher.
I have played baseball since I was four and I plan on attending St. Mikes next year to hopefully play baseball for them. I won a state championship in high school last year starting at third base and played all over the infield throughout the season. I played outfield prior to infield as well. I batted .236 with a .598 OBP, finding my rhythm in big spots driving in 20 RBIs in the 5-7 spot. I throw an ok two seam 67-71 and top out at 73mph on the mound with a Knuckle Curve that is 61-65 that can get to 67mph if I rip it. I also have a circle change that is around 58-63mph with 22” of drop and 5” of run.
I am a pretty calm guy but I am very competitive and want to win every game. I live in Wells River, VT and wouldn’t mind traveling but I would prefer to play closer to home.
