| Congrats to White for winning the first ever Sitwa Bowl.
Great run Green, Tony don’t beat yourself up over what happened last night you should be proud of your guys and especially of yourself. For whatever its worth I am.
The Field Goal
I understand some of you are upset about the call on the field goal and some of you for whatever reason are blaming Francis. I made the call not Francis, so if you want to talk about it or blame anyone I’m your man. I do know it was the right call. The ball was clearly between the uprights and hit the arch or the dome. If the ball would have hit the top of the dome it would have been no good. The original signal was that it was good and when a discussion was made between the officials that call was no good. It’s my responsibility to when the officials look for clarification on a ruling to make a call. That is what I did. Like it or not it was the right call.
Going forward
Overall I am very pleased with the way the first season went; we had some great games and great teams. A lot of new guys got to show their stuff and not only new guys, guys that have been reserves in the CFL and had a chance to get some real playing time. The coaches for the most part did a great job, me being the biggest disappointment as a coach this year. The great thing is there is always next year to right the wrongs.
This was our first time around and I understand it wasn’t going to run perfect, but some of the things that went down during the season and last night are inexcusable. Thank goodness we weren’t allowed to have as many spectators as we would have liked to invite because of the capacity rule. I also want to apologize to women that were exposed to the senseless drama last night. That is not what I expected the league to come to and will take a serious look at the people that should not and will not play in this league going forward. Some of you reminded me of the days I worked outside at Times Square on the 18 and over nights. Grow up.
