Did anyone see the article in Saturdays Telegram ..Sports Scene by Robin Short? If you haven't here's some of his quotes.
Auto Racing has all the appeal of a salad bar.
How can anyone get jacked up for a sport where winning is not decided by man but by the machine?
Dollars determine winning and losing The more you got, the better your chances at winning!
Racing excitement level, teeter's somewhere between gardening and shaving!

Racing is not about the car it is not about the driver it is about driver,car and a little bit of luck the driver how has all that will finish and the driver how as the most luck will win what it all come down to is we all are a bunch of guys/renee fighting for the same spot

That's why Summer Stock Car Racing in Avondale out draws all other sports in Newfoundland combined. Someone should explaing rhe facts to that guy?

Guess Stock Car Racing getting too much coverage for Mr Short. Todays Telegram(wednesday 29 June) Scoreboard had Football, Soccer and Softball get 20 lines coverage. Stock Car Racing at Avondale Speedway had 80 lines listing Top 5 in Qualifiers and top 10 in Mains. Names and Hometowns of the 80 drivers were also listed.
