With Week 1 in the books, we learned a lot, mainly that some things never change:

Touchdown Yellow!! Touchdown Yellow!! Touchdown Yellow!! That seemed to be on repeat in yesterday?s early game as Yellow proved to be way too much for an outmatched Red team struggling to find their QB of the future. With so much talent on this Red team you would hate to see the season go to waste trying to figure out that position. After a controversial draft and a preseason trade to get Timmy Acho on Yellow (was weird seeing those 2 playing catch let alone in the same huddle) they wasted no time displaying an offensive firepower that Nate?s Yellow teams will typically showcase. Nate found open receiver after open receiver shredding Red?s defense, as 2nd year man Derek Babi and Bigz Naimi both had a pair of TD?s. Red needs to find their identity, and possibly a new QB1 after trading away Timmy, so we cant be sure if this was a display of how good Yellow will be this year or how bad Red might be. Only time will tell?. (Yellow 34, Red 0)

In the prime time slot we had a slight drizzle start to come down which would only foreshadow the ugly and gritty rematch of last years Chy Cup Championship. Blue came out early and scored on their first drive as Justin moved the ball well through the air and with his feet as well, following Derek P up the middle on multiple runs. But the offense sputtered on multiple goal line attempts and that would prove to best costly. This may take some time to put together as Justin is playing with a new WR group from last year with the addition of Stefan and Cheech to 2nd year playmaker Andrew Marouki. Green came out with mostly the same formula we saw from last year?s Championship team, just with a few different pieces but the same core, a shaky offensive game where big plays were missed at times, but a solid defense to keep them in any game. Shango used his feet more than we?ve seen in the past and converted one TD with his feet and another to the Fountain of Youth, Shuck. Biggest play of the game here was Mazen?s catch on 4th and 20 that would eventually set up the game winning TD for Green. In the end, it was the defense that prevailed as Brandon Nafso picked Blue?s final attempt off and took it to the house, in what looked like an attempt to cover Mazen?s ridiculous spread of Green -10 (Green 20, Blue 11)

Mike Sesi TD!! Mike Sesi TD!! Mike Sesi TD!! There was a lot of frustration yesterday on the faces of team White and that all came from one man-child, Mikha Sesi. White simply had no answer as he made poster after poster on any and all defenders White was willing to have embarrassed. T-Rock looked poised in the pocket as he always does and his shifty hips avoided multiple sacks as the White Defense tried to put pressure on the aging Columbian Drug lord. Black looked legit, but we?ve seen this before from T, let?s see how long it can last this time. On the other side of the ball White had no answer for Black?s defense as they swarmed every pass and rushing attempt AA threw at them. White came into the season loaded with talent and added Rix (off waivers) to the bunch but still couldn?t get the chemistry clicking in what looked eerily similar to last years disaster of a season. Dylan Kalabat was ejected from this game after receiving a swearing penalty and personal foul, but will be available for next week?s already must win vs Red. (Black 18, White 0)

****Notes ? After Week 1 we have 2 teams who have yet to record a point on the season (Red and White). Mike Sesi leads the league in TD?s with 3 and is dead last in the league with yards after the catch with 0. Way to early Front runner for MVP, T-rock. Will anyone stand out for ROY, not sure??
