Mid-Season Report Card

Team Black ? A-
At the halfway point T-Rock has his team positioned, per vegas odds, as the favorite to take home the coveted Chy Cup. He can thank a lot of that to co-captain Nick Hermiz who helped build this team at the draft and surround T with weapons. Sitting at 3-2, they do not possess the best record in the league, that belongs to White at 4-1, but they are playing the best football in the league right now. Consecutive blowouts to the defending champs Green, and lonely Red have this team clicking on all cylinders. Derek Rabban has established himself as the best center in the league and we all know if T can save some of his fragile arm for the playoffs, the KID Mikha Sesi (formerly known as Abu Mushakil) will go and get it. The newfound rush of JP alongside G-Lo has been a great combination. Not to mention you still have to cover JP and George Sharrak while you?re at it. Can T-Rock finally get it done?

Black odds to win the Chy Cup ? 2/1

Team White ? B+
White sits at the top of the standings midway through the season at 4-1. Week 1 wasn?t pretty as this team didn?t seem to mesh. Coach Anthony Acho saw that and took advantage of the extra pick he got in this years fist ever supplemental draft and flipped that pick and a Wannabe QB for Jordan Rassam and Niko Jonna. Since that trade and the return of the Wise One Scotty Acho, White hasn?t lost a game. Quarterback Anthony Acho has looked sharp for the most part and should now be regarded as a top QB in the league. This team is dangerous at every position on offense, from Aws at the center spot, to Dylan, Dani, and Niko on the outside they are not short of talent. The Showstopper took this team to the next level from just average to a true contender to win it all this year. Hi Chewy!!

White odds to win the Chy Cup ? 5/2

Team Blue ? B
A lot has been made about how great of a season Tarik has had through 5 games. Well stats don?t lie and Justin (the real Jake) Orow has a better completion % and is only 1 TD pass behind Tarik on the season. The big play ability for Blue will keep them in every game, just ask Black after that shocking Week 2 loss to Blue. Stefan, Andrew and Cheech form one of the best receiving corps in the league and Preston?s ability from the O-Line is a mismatch for most LB?s. And if that doesn?t scare you, Derek P will (by suplexing you to the ground if that?s what it takes). Dr. Rami will never go out of business as long as you?re still playing. Justin will have his team ready to roll for the second half and I expect to see them in the playoffs with a chance to win it all.

Blue odds to win the Chy Cup 3/1

Team Green ? B-
The defending champs started the season strong by winning the first 3 out of the gate, but have stumbled in their last 2, and those losses haven?t been pretty. The offense has looked stagnant at times in what some are calling a QB Sophomore slump, but they have leaned on their defense to win games. Mazen and Shango have created a no fly zone at safety while BNafso continues to play shut down defense at corner. Georgie Abro continues to wreak havoc from the D-Line and Rookie Donny Jappaya has done an excellent job playing the middle, showing he possesses the ever important veteran flag pulling capability. Kresto has been a weapon off the O-Line and the Fountain of Youth, Shuck, keeps turning back the clock with each sliding grab. Coach Lance Samona will have the boys ready for another run at the Chy Cup and if they can get their offense rolling we could see Green in a 3rd straight Chy Cup championship.

Green odds to win the Chy Cup ? 3/1

Team Yellow ? C
Nate?s teams are never out of contention, especially a team that has Dylan ?I separate people?s shoulder? Putrus on it (side note Dylan tied for league lead in receptions). However, the struggle is real, as poor play and the disappearance of Nate and Chirs (literally not showing up) has this team under .500 at the halfway point for the first time that I can ever recall. Bigtime playmaker Derek Babi came down with an injury and he needs to recover quickly if Yellow is to bounce back in the second half of the season. Timmy Acho will have to take on a bigger role in the passing game, but will Nate trust him to do so? Surprise player of the year goes out to Bigz Naimi, we?ve all seen what he can do from the center spot in the past but he?s been catching everything thrown his way and has come up huge for yellow so far. Mr. Reliable Ernie has been the safety net he?s always been catching balls and scoring TD?s. If they can get healthy, and show up to the rest of their games, Nate can will this team to the playoffs and possiblyyyyyy, just maybeeeee, get this team to make yet another Chy Cup appearance.

Yellow odds to win the Chy Cup ? 7/2

Team Red - F
There?s not much to say here as the red ship sunk before they could even get a tan as their season has spun completely out of control. Trading away Timmy Acho may not have been the smartest move coach AT?s ever made but he put his trust in Jordan Rabban, and although he?s shown flashes, it hasn?t been enough. Poor Max and Dom, but this team has heart and AT will not let them quit. They?ll keep fighting until the end and try to play spoiler on another team?s season. At 0-5 this would be the most remarkable turn around of all time, but it has been done before (see 2016 Team Green).

Red odds to win the Chy Cup ? 25/1

Midseason MVP ? T-rock leads the league in touchdown with 14 and only 3 picks halfway through the season. He has his team as the favorite to win it all after blitzing their last 2 opponents

Midseason MVP Runner Up ? Justin Orow, continues to put up big numbers

Midseason Offensive MVP ? Dylan Kallabat, with high expectations after draft night, Dylan has delivered with the most catches and touchdowns of any player thus far. AA has keyed in on his favorite offensive weapon and he has not disappointed

Midseason Defensive MVP ? Derek Rabban, shutting down his side of the field, with 3 picks and 2 defensive touchdowns (per Elias Sports Bureau)

Midseason Rookie of the Year ? Fahad Elia, with 2 sacks and 4 picks this rookie is proving he deserved to be picked in the early rounds of the draft, AA must have an eye for talent
