| Jeff, i heard Ron and Heather are out of Coaching the Travel teams this Year which is great. But the question is which team are you taking ? I think not having Daddy and Mommy basketball is great and i hope one day my kid plays for you.

| I would coach them all if I could have assistants that go on the road with each team lol......I'm not sure yet Matt and I will discuss it I'm sure........but I will be holding workouts for all kids all ages not just travel

| What was wrong with the way I coached 4th grade team? 3 weeks of practice they looked and played like a team.Kids had a blast. They were on TV ans received a Trophy. Who played daddy ball?

| their shouldn't be any Mommy nor Daddy coach a travel team.... my son played one of the travel team last year the coach was one of the player's dad he must have played almost the whole game,the coach has no clue about basketball.come on lets be for real...and also their shouldn't be any out of town kids to play in the COLONIA travel team.lets give our own hometown kids a chance to play or make the team..WAKE UP GM

| The girls should be called the Woodbridge/Colonia travel team! Takes away from giving mroe Colonia kids a chance to play.

| Angry parent I agree with you the issue is not the league it's a town league so most times you get dads...and we have to thank them for that......but I understand what your saying.....the player evaluation has to be done different to some degree but the success of the program can't be denied for instance we have the only league with 3 boys championships in out of town travel around here ....... I will admit a coaching clinic (which I will give if they want) is very needed no question about that I attend several and yes they help I've given some as well.....hopefully things work out and we have a good season this year

| To all my parent and non parent coaches it's all about kid's and kid's ability and what coach can get that the most out of them. If a parent coaches his son and he is the the best player you have no right to complain. That player put a lot more time in he should be rewarded. Now ron's mad he's gone. If jeff doesn't coach a team he's gone. There both good guys. My kid never got to play travel in Colonia and i kinda of regret it but it wasn't because of his ability it was beacuase of people in charge and me. Now wasn't that stupid let's not be stupid.

| Everyone complains about the coaches but no steps up to coach. The league still need coaches for rec. Where are all the angry parents. Step up and volunteer. Also I agree coach Jeff should have gotten a team.

| Coach Jeff doesn't get a team! Crazy. A coach with no kids on the team, here for the kids and can't coach! But 2 fathers coach the 7th grade travel team! I don't get it! Colonia sports has been this way as long as I know it. The kids loved playing for Coach Jeff

| How can there be fair travel tryouts when 2 roster spots are already taken by the kids of the 2 parent coaches. I highly doubt they would coach if their kids weren't on the team. Somebody explain how this is good for the kids, league and area?

| This tryout is so squed it's incredible. No father should have anything to do with travel basketball. Even if someone else pick the roster it's messed up. If the coaches kids don't make it, no coaches. So why have them anyway. Colonia sports at its usual best.

| Its funny that everyone that has something to say negative about me is to cowardly to post their real names. as for Jeff coaching , I agree that he should be still involved. The way the system has worked is that after Jeff finished up with the 8th grade team last year he should have rotated to the 5th then take the same team year after year until they got to eigth. That is the same reason that I am doing the 8th this year, I did 7th travel last year. By the way we won the Championship.Also the sons of the coaches on the team made the travel team because they deserve it, they made the team at the 5th and 6th grade level when neither of us were the coaches, so don't pick on the kids. Also as Coach O said in a previous statement that nobody else wants to put the time in, they just want to cry. If you don't want me to coach your son then pull'em, that is if they made the team.This is suppose to be about the kids. My team knows me and they know I try to get as much playing time in per player. They also understand that this is not Rec bball either. Nothing else to say that if you want to talk to me then do so in person, I am easy to talk to and am open to all criticism that is sensible.

| For Petes sake people....let me chime in....I'm upset this is true but this stuff can't go on the GM made the decision like it or not respect it or not it was the decision that was made....records championships and knowledge aren't the only reasons you give someone a team (lol) but seriously....it's not about me it's about and for the kids they need your support...they need you to cheer and they need you to believe in them....I wish all these kids well weather I coach them or not any one of them or any parent can always get in touch with me for training....but developing teaching training and turning a group of kids into a family and a team is what I love doing and will keep doing....(just not sure where lol) ....bottom line I'll always bleed blue and gold I'll always love you guys but I'm a coach and I love coaching and although it won't be there I would hope wherever it is I would have your support ....you always have mine.......

| I think it's time to stop the negative comments and lets act like adults. There is nothnig terrible going on here, at least I don't think there is. Can we just get an update from someone who is involved in running this league who the coaches are.

| Jerry has been involved in the league for at least 8 years. I also believe he is involved with the younger kids. He has always stepped in and filled in where he is needed. As for his son he would have made the team if Phil Jackson was coaching, so for anyone to insinuate that he is coaching so his kid plays or makes the team needs to think about their statements again.

| What is the percentage of youth coaches who coach teams that have their child on the roster......97%..?..just a rough guess. If not for fathers coaching because their kids are involved, would organized youth sports even exist? It's a stupid argument

| I just want to say that this is my first time in Colonia Basketball. The town I live in does not have a basketball team. My child will be attending Colonia High due to the area I live in. I decided since my child started Middle School I would get her involved so she would know someone when she got to High school.
I want to say to all and every coach (father or mother) of children need not matter.Being
an outsider coming inside you have a lot of dedicated, talented people. I wish I knew the game to be able to advance my child. It amazes me that more than one coach is helping the teams out. I love the atmosphere here in Colonia. Those who are angry because of coach, or playing time or whatever...think about the reason why we are here....For the Kids. I do want to say thank you to Coaches, players, and parents because we have felt a warm WELCOME. If Woodbridge people came to Colonia it is probably because you are providing a service that no other is. Keep up the good work everyone.
