Kevin Quinn And A.J. Olasz Spark Mudcat Win
Tarran Senay once again returned to his old stomping grounds and once again homered to give Quinn Construction a 1-0 lead in the second inning. AJ Olasz then followed that with a triple and scored on Kevin Quinn's sac fly to left, making it 2-0. Steel Towne Inn scored an unearned run in the 4th and then took the lead in the top of the 5th with the help of 4 consecutive walks. Mudcat starter, Jason Milko was pulled in the 5th after a one-out walk. Senay was brought in to pitch but he walked two consecutive batters to load the bases. Danny Laird then relieved Senay and he walked the first batter he faced to push across the tying run. A fielders choice would bring home the go-ahead run making it 3-2 in favor of the Steel Towne boys. Quinn Construction responded in the bottom of the 5th. Jim Pasquine got hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on Tony Kostelnik's double off of the fence, knotting the score at 3-3. The Mudcats then put the game away with 4 runs in the 6th inning. With one out, Senay walked, AJ Olasz singled and both runners moved up a base when the right fielder allowed the ball to get past him. Steel Towne decided to intentionally walk Laird to get to Kevin Quinn. Quinn made them pay as he laced a 2-run single to break the tie and give the Mudcats a 5-3 lead. A fielders choice and an error gave the Cats two more runs to finish the scoring. Pasquine pitched the 7th and fanned all 3 batters to end the game.
