Diamonds Beat Colts 10-9
Yet another crazy playoff game between these two teams ends with the diamonds prevailing 10-9 behind Eric Foley's complete game. Nate Bradley took the loss for the Colts. Fleet-footed Pete Zakkak stole home on the back end of a double steal to cut the Colts lead to 2-1 in the second. In the fifth, York scored 6 times to take a 7-3 lead. The Colts came right back with 6 runs in the next three frames to go up 9-7, including a Jeff Kawakami home run.
the stage was set for the York comeback in the 8th as Rich Freeman and Greg Shannon singled, and Paul Freeman sacrificed them up. After a strikeout, Neil Parekh walked to load the bases and Don Cantwell ripped a game-tying two-run single. Eric Foley then singled home the go-ahead run. Foley allowed two runners in the 9th, but induced a game ending flyout to give the diamonds a sweet victory.
