Saints win in walk-off fashion by scoring 3 in the 7th!
The Kokomo cfd Saints found themselves down 3 to 0 heading into the Bottom of the 6th. Parker Shelton knocked in Cole Braun to make the score 3 to 1 through 6 innings. In the bottom of the 7th, Jaret Humphrey walked with 1 out. Myles Griffith followed that up with a Single. Bailey Owens walked to load the bases. Cole Braun drew a walk to score Humphrey and to make the score 3 to 2. Pinch runner for Griffith was Cole Wedding. Wedding scored on a passed ball to tie the score at 3 to 3. With runners on 2nd & 3rd, Ashton Guyer was intentional walked to load the bases for Noah Sanders. Sanders worked the count to 3 & 2 and then drew the bases loaded walk scoring Owens for the 4 to 3 win!
Nick Caplinger pitched the first 4 1/3 Innings. He gave up 2 runs, both earned. He gave up 3 hits, walked 5, and struck out 6. Myles Pearce picked up the victory in relief as he threw 2 2/3 innings. He did not walk any batters, he gave up 1 earned run on 4 hits. He struck out 2.
The Saints now stand at 10 Wins and 1 Loss on the season and are currently 1 & 0 in Omaha in the Battle of Omaha 19U Tournament!
