Dest With 3 Hits As Cowboys Beat Kangaroos

Nick Dest collected three hits in four at-bats as Litchfield defeated Terryville 16-3 on Tuesday. Dest singled in the first, and twice in the fourth.

The Cowboys jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first after Joe Sepples singled, scoring two runs, Jack Gollow hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Cyrus Gerena singled, scoring one run.

Litchfield added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when an error scored one run, and Chase Reynolds singled, scoring two.

A sacrifice fly by Elian Vega extended the Cowboys lead to 8-3 in the bottom of the third.

Litchfield scored eight runs on seven hits in the bottom of the fourth. An error scored one run, Colby Morgan grounded out, scoring one run, Gus Worden singled, scoring one run, Vega singled, scoring one run, Travus Lipinsky singled scoring one run, Dest singled, scoring two runs, and Reynolds singled, scoring one run.

Lipinsky started on the hill for the Cowboys allowing one hit and three runs over four innings, striking out three and walking nine. Sepples pitched one inning of relief allowing zero runs, one hit, and striking out one.

Litchfield piled up 13 hits in the game. Dest and Reynolds each collected three hits for the Cowboys. Reynolds went 3-for-4 at the plate as the second baseman led the team with three runs batted in. Lipinsky and Wordn each collected multiple hits for Litchfield. The Cowboys also had patience at the plate amassing six walks. Sepples and Gollow led the team with two walks a piece. Lipinsy and Vega each stole multiple bases while the team collected 11 for the game.

H. Lewandowski and Warner each drove in one run for Terryville. Warner led the Kangaroos with two hits. Lewandowski and R. Lewandowski each had two walks a piece.
