Cowboys Trounce Golden Bears
The Litchfield Cowboys won big over the Thomaston Golden Bears 16-2 on Tuesday.
The Cowboys were the first to get on the board in the first when Jack Gollow singled, scoring two runs.
The Cowboys scored five on three hits in the top of the second. Gus Worden doubled, scoring one run, Travis Lipinsky singled, scoring two runs, Joe Sepples drew a walk, scoring one run, and GOllow doubled, scoring one run.
Litchfield added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Worden doubled again, Lipinsky singled again, and Sepples doubled, each scoring one run.
The Cowboys scored five runs on five hits in the top of the sixth. Chase Reynolds singled, scoring two runs, Elian Vega was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Ben Gabriele singled, scoring one run, and Julian Salvietti grounded out, scoring one run.
Reynolds opened the game for Litchfield on the mound. He surrender six hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking two. Macsicza stated on the bump for Thomaston. He surrendered frou hits and seven runs (four earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking four. Gage Rohrer pitched two innings of no-hit ball for the Cowboys in relief. He struck out one.
The Cowboys talled 13 hits in the game. Gollow and Worden each collected three hits. Gollow and Lipinsky each drove in three. Spples led the team with three walks while the team walked seven times in total. Sepples, Gollow, Lipinsky, and Vega each stole multiple bases for the Cowboys; they stole 12 total in the game.
Patchell, Johnson, Gomes, Boulanger, Bothroyd, and Brammer each collected one hit for Thomaston. Johnson and Gomes each drove in one run for the Golden Bears.
Next up for Litchfield is a game at Housatonic on Wednesday.
