Cowboys Fall After Strong Showing By Bears
Litchfield could not keep up with Granby Memorial and fell 9-0 on Wednesday.
Granby Memorial Bears got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Roberts walked, and Granby Memorial Bears scored on a wild pitch, scoring one run.
The Bears added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when Pelletier hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Santasiare doubled, scoring two runs, and Roberts grounded out, scoring one run.
Joe Sepples pitched five innings of relief for the Cowboys. The reliever surrendered nine hits and four runs (three earned) while striking out five and walking one. Jack Gollow led things off on the hill for the Cowboys and allowed zero hits and five runs over one inning, striking out one and walking six. Orluk threw a complete game one-hitter for the Bears, striking out 10 and walking six.
Travis Lipinsky went 1-1 at the plate with two walks to lead the Cowboys. He also stole two bases.
The Bears amassed 9 hits in the game. Pelletier led Granby Memorial with two hits in three at-bats. Teclaw stole two bases while the team stole five bases in the game.
