Gollow's Big Day Propels Cowboys Past Golden Bears
Jack Gollow Drove in five runs on four hits to lead the Cowboys past the Golden Bears. Gollow Doubled in the first, scoring two, singled in the second, scoring one, and singled in the fourth, scoring one.
The Golden Bears were the first to get on the board when Brammer grounded out, scoring one run.
The Cowboys flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first by scoring 10 runs on six hits to take a 10-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Travis Lipinsky that drove in two.
The Cowboys added six more on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. One run scored on a dropped third strike, Elian Vega singled, scoring one run, Gollow singled, scoring one run, and error scored one run, and Chase Reynolds doubled, scoring two runs.
A ground out by Gollow extended the Litchfield Cowboys lead to 17-1 in the bottom of the third.
Reynolds began the game on the hill for Litchfield. He surrendered three hits on one run over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Patchell stepped on the bump first for Thomaston. He allowed six hits and 10 runs (eight earned) in one inning, striking out none and walking two. Gage Rohrer tossed two innings of shutout ball for Litchfield in relief. He surrendered one hit and walked one.
The Cowboys piled up 17 hits in the game. Lipinsky and Vega each collected multiple hits for the Litchfield Cowboys. Litchfield turned three double plays in the game.
Brammer led the Golden Bears with one run batted in. Lanzara, Coffill, Boulanger, and Bothroyd each collected one hit for Thomaston.
