The Rats avoided the Rat trap and edge past the Pandas

The Rats jumped out quickly on the Pandas with a 5 run 1st. Jarrod Nipper started for the Rats and pitched well with no runs through 4 and 5 strikeouts. He gave up only 2 hits. Scott Hiers came in the 5th and scattered 9 hits but struck out 7 to get the win in the 8th. He gave up only 4 earned runs and had some costly errors behind him. The Rats managed to make the plays when it counted. The 2nd pitcher for the Pandas came in a slammed the door pretty much on the Rats scoring. He had some costly errors behind him too, but that baseball. The Rats got 16 hits this game but left a lot of guys on base. The Pandas had 11 hits but ended up on the short end of the run stick. Good luck to them in the 18+ playoffs.
