Goobers Softball Stymied By Thunder Buffaloes
Goobers Softball couldn't keep up with Thunder buffaloes and fell 12-2 on Tuesday.
Thunder buffaloes opened the scoring in the first after Black Hoodie White Glove scored after tagging up.
Thunder buffaloes scored five runs on seven hits in the bottom of the second inning. Yellow Glove doubled, scoring one run, #62 singled, scoring one run, Black Hoodie White Glove singled, scoring one run, and #4 doubled, scoring two runs.
Thunder buffaloes extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by #88 and Yellow Glove.
Bobby Chapman stepped in the circle first for Goobers Softball. The starting pitcher allowed 17 hits and 12 runs over three and one-third innings, striking out none and walking none.
Rob Ryan and Brian Fraser were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Goobers Softball. Brian Robbie, Goobers Softball's number nine hitter, led the team with two hits in two at-bats. Goobers Softball were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. JP Anderson had the most chances in the field with four.
Thunder buffaloes piled up 17 hits in the game. Yellow Glove, the number eight hitter for Thunder buffaloes, led the way with three runs batted in. Yellow Glove went 2-for-2 on the day. #23, Yellow Glove, Black Hoodie White Glove, #4, #62, and #27 each collected two hits for Thunder buffaloes. Thunder buffaloes turned one double play in the game.
