All Offense In Goobers Softball Loss vs Shattered Dreams
Bats were blistered on Tuesday, but Goobers Softball couldn't quite get the job done against Shattered Dreams and lost 12-10. Shattered Dreams collected 14 hits, while Goobers Softball had 18.
Goobers Softball fought back after falling down by seven runs in the fifth inning. The comeback fell just short though. Goobers Softball closed the gap by scoring on a single, an error, and a double.
Shattered Dreams jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after #28 tripled, scoring two runs, Navy tripled, scoring one run, and #10 singled, scoring one run.
A single by Light Blue Tee extended the Shattered Dreams lead to 6-2 in the top of the third inning.
Shattered Dreams scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fifth inning. #25 hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, #21 singled, scoring one run, Light Blue Tee tripled, scoring one run, and Grey hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs.
Goobers Softball scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Josh Pileggi singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, and JP Anderson doubled, scoring one run.
Bobby Chapman led things off in the circle for Goobers Softball. The starting pitcher gave up 14 hits and 12 runs (11 earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out none and walking two.
Goobers Softball piled up 18 hits in the game. Darryl Danilko went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Goobers Softball in hits. Anderson and Pileggi each drove in two runs for Goobers Softball. Bryan Ploen, Jon Boodhoo, Ryan McNeil, and Chapman each collected multiple hits for Goobers Softball.
Shattered Dreams accumulated 14 hits in the game. Light Blue Tee drove the middle of the lineup, leading Shattered Dreams with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-3 on the day.
