Ryan McNeil Leads Goobers Softball Past Heartbreakers
Ryan McNeil collected three hits in three at bats, as Goobers Softball defeated Heartbreakers 11-3 on Tuesday. McNeil doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
Goobers Softball got on the board in the top of the first inning after Josh Pileggi doubled, Adam Sawoszczuk singled, and Kevin Robbie singled, each scoring one run.
Goobers Softball extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI singles by Sawoszczuk and Robbie.
Goobers Softball scored five runs on six hits in the top of the sixth inning. Bobby Chapman singled, scoring one run, McNeil doubled, scoring two runs, Sawoszczuk singled, scoring one run, and Robbie singled, scoring one run.
Steve Rocha earned the win for Goobers Softball. The starter allowed nine hits and three runs over six innings, striking out none and walking four.
Goobers Softball accumulated 19 hits in the game. Sawoszczuk and Robbie were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Goobers Softball. Robbie went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Goobers Softball in hits. McNeil, Chapman, and Rocha each collected multiple hits for Goobers Softball. Ariah Tell paced Goobers Softball with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing four walks for the game.
#28 and #94 each collected two hits for Heartbreakers. #13 led Heartbreakers with two runs batted in. #13 went 1-for-3 on the day. #23 led Heartbreakers with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up four walks for the game.
