McNeil Drives 4 Runners Home In Goobers Win vs Down & Dirty
Ryan McNeil drove in four runs on three hits to lead Goobers Softball past Down & Dirty 12-9 on Tuesday. McNeil singled in the sixth scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and tripled in the second scoring one.
Bats blistered as Goobers Softball collected 19 hits and Down & Dirty tallied 17 in the high-scoring game.
Goobers Softball opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to four singles. Goobers Softball first got on the board when McNeil singled, scoring one run.
Goobers Softball added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Darryl Danilko singled, and McNeil tripled, each scoring one run.
Down & Dirty scored five runs on seven hits in the top of the fifth inning. #16 doubled, scoring three runs, #53 singled, scoring one run, and #00 singled, scoring one run.
Down & Dirty jumped into the lead in the top of the sixth when #38 tripled, scoring two runs, and #39 singled, scoring one run.
Goobers Softball jumped into the lead in the bottom of the sixth when JP Anderson singled, scoring one run, McNeil singled, scoring two runs, and Sean Danilko hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Bobby Chapman earned the win for Goobers Softball. The righty surrendered 16 hits and nine runs (eight earned) over seven and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking one. Danilko collected the save.
Goobers Softball tallied 19 hits in the game. Anderson and McNeil each collected three hits for Goobers Softball. Danilko, Danilko, Rob Ryan, Chapman, and Kevin Robbie each collected multiple hits for Goobers Softball. Goobers Softball turned three double plays in the game.
Down & Dirty piled up 17 hits in the game. #38, Down & Dirty's number nine hitter, led the team with four hits in four at-bats. #16 went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. #19, #53, and #39 each collected multiple hits for Down & Dirty.
