Goobers Softball Blow Huge Lead Against Thunder Buffaloes

A walk-off left Goobers Softball on the wrong end of a 16-15 defeat to Thunder buffaloes on Tuesday. Thunder buffaloes were down 15-14 in the bottom of the seventh inning when #5 singled, scoring two runs.

Despite the loss, Goobers Softball did collect 23 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Thunder buffaloes had 25 hits on the way to victory.

Goobers Softball opened the scoring in the first after Bobby Chapman singled, scoring one run.

Thunder buffaloes jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after #21 doubled to center field, and #33 singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Thunder buffaloes added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after #25 singled to left field, and #13 hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Thunder buffaloes added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after #62 singled to right field, and #22 doubled to center field, each scoring two runs.

Goobers Softball scored five runs on seven hits in the top of the fourth inning. Kevin Danilko tripled, scoring two runs, JP Anderson singled, scoring one run, Chapman singled, scoring one run, and Kyle Gerrard doubled, scoring one run.

Goobers Softball flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on six hits to take the lead, 11-8. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Anderson that drove in two.

Thunder buffaloes took the lead, 16-15, in the bottom of the seventh thanks to singles by #12, #62, #22, #25, #13, #888, and #5.

Chapman opened the game for Goobers Softball. The righty allowed 25 hits and 16 runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking two.

Goobers Softball amassed 23 hits in the game. Chapman led Goobers Softball with four hits in four at bats. Anderson and Chapman each drove in three runs for Goobers Softball. Adam Sawoszczuk, Darryl Danilko, Ryan McNeil, Gerrard, Kevin Robbie, and Danilko each collected multiple hits for Goobers Softball. Goobers Softball turned one double play in the game.

Thunder buffaloes amassed 25 hits in the game. #25, #33, #5, #22, and #62 each collected three hits for Thunder buffaloes. #22 and #62 were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Thunder buffaloes. #12, #13, #888, and #21 each collected multiple hits for Thunder buffaloes. Thunder buffaloes turned one double play in the game.
