"Merchants Make It Three Straight"
The East Side Merchants (10-17, 6-11) won for the third consecutive night trouncing Joe & Stan's in the process. It was the second night in a row where the Merchants have finished a ball game early because of the 10-run rule. The Merchants have now scored 27 runs in their last 11 innings. Deryk Marks picked up his second consecutive victory on the hill, tossing a 1-hitter while striking out six. Marks also hit his team-leading fourth homerun of the season in the bottom half of the third inning, a solo shot to leftfield. With the victory, the Merchants move into sole possession of 7th place in the Saint Paul League standings. The Merchants are back in action tomorrow night against Stockmen's Irish at McGuire Field, first pitch slated to be thrown at 7:30.
