"East Side Explodes For 17"

The East Side Merchants (9-17, 5-11) won their second straight game and pounded the Park National Minneapolis River Rats in the process. Wes Olson had a no-hitter going through 4 1/3 innings before finalizing the victory in a 10-run shortened contest. Bo Stanley set a new era Merchant record by going 5-5 with a double, four singles, three runs, and an rbi. Deryk Marks slugged his team-leading third homerun of the season and Nick Vavra pitched in with his first career Amateur homerun as well. Jay Melson and Michael Edlefsen continued to stay hot during the route, Melson went 4-5 with two rbi's, while Edlefsen collected his sixth hit in the past three games. The Merchants pick-up their 9th victory of the season in style and are back in action tomorrow night against Joe & Stan's at Dunning Stadium, first pitch slated to be thrown at 6:00.
