"Stockmen's Snaps Streak"
The East Side Merchants (10-18, 6-11) lost for the first time in their previous four contests to the Skyline League power-house, the Stockmen's Irish. Ricky Sabo was making his first start of the season and ran into trouble in the first allowing four runs, which ended up being the difference. Sabo went a solid five innings, allowing eight hits while striking out five. Jay Mrozinski was sensational in relief, not allowing a hit while striking out three. The Merchants red-hot bats finally slowed down sum, as they come off riding the wave a 27-0 scoring surge through their past two games. The Merchants are back in Saint Paul League action tomorrow night against North End at Como Park, first pitch slated to be thrown at 6:00.
