"Merchants Eliminated"
The East Side Merchants (10-23, 6-14, 0-2) lost their sixth consecutive contest and fell from the 2008 Saint Paul League Playoffs on Wednesday night to Highland Park. East Side committed five errors all together and Matty Grill (1-3) takes the hard luck loss after surrendering a 3-run homerun to Jim Blissenbach in the bottom half of the 4th-inning. The Merchants only paced together four hits all night from only three different players. Bo Stanley and Pat Casey hit back to back doubles in the 3rd-inning while Marks collected two hits in three trips all together on the night. The East Side Merchants will be back in action in August as they conclude their 2008 regular and post-season in the Saint Paul League. Continue to stay up to date with the East Side Merchants for more on scheduling, signings and other news throughout the coming months.
