Amato Girlz Steal a 13 - 12 WIn
The Scarborough Police Department could have been called tonight as the Green and Gold tore up the base paths with 13 stolen bases and a 13 run win. The Amato Girlz out hit the Community Builders 11 to 3 on the night.
Danni Plummer lead the was with 4 runs scored, 1 stolen base and 2 hits one of which was so a stand up triple. Mary Farncoff also scored 4 times and had 3 RBI's. Anna Driscoll also scored 3 times and had three thefts herself. Other offensive note come from Chandra LaBonte with 2 Stolen bases and 3 RBI's
3 pitchers took the mound for the Amato's Majors pitched well and flashed the leather to help the cause. Tori Hale started the game, started a double play, which could have turned into a triple play had there not been the errant "that's three" from the sidelines with ALL the girls leaving the field. Hale not phased by not getting that third out retired the next batter for the "third out". Plummer came in for the next two innings and could have left her glove on the bench as she fanned 6 consecutive batters! Megan Murrell took the mound next for her first time of the season and had two assists and notched one K.
While there were a few lapses in fielding Fanrkoff, Hale, Jamie Dillon, Dominique Caron did a good job backing up throws from their positions. LaBonte caught the full game and came close to throwing out a base runner and had a good tag at the plate.
