Whately Retirement lasts 3 innings

The Senators were finally able to get their 2020 season underway after a litany of setbacks, delays, contract holdouts and personal vendettas. Despite earlier media reports, Stormy Daniels was unable to fulfill her contractual obligation to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Newly acquired free agent Mike Lord opened for the Senators striking out 8 batters over 3 innings. Offensively he contributed two hits including a 3 run home run in the 4th. Its unknown at this time if he'll be able to secure a spot in the Senators pitching rotation with octogenarian Mike Whatley returning and eating up a massive chunk of the Senators salary cap. Offensively, finding a spot in the batting lineup will also be difficult with such offensive juggernauts as Scott Cordis in the same que. Cordis is expected to be a massive influence to the success of the Senators 2020 season. Post game he was quoted as saying "I expect to be Cal Ripken like, an iron man if you will. Its not like I'm gonna sprain my ankle tripping over my dog". Only time will tell if this will tell true.

Leadoff batter Eeric David continues to disappoint both fans and ownership with his off the field antics. His latest tirade at a local farmers market only further questioned his mental stability. During his subsequent arraignment stemming from the incident he stated "well, if I'm expected to keep my clothes on, they're expected to have some goddamn organic parmesan cheese!". When asked if David's nude protest had anything to do with his Margarita pizza battery mate Kevin Linnehan referred all questions to his attorney. When asked if its a distraction to the team, rookie coaching sensation and local Wunderkind Brandon Seymour stated "Who?" before stomping off while muttering what can only be assumed to be anti democratic obscenities.

The teams battled back and forth into the late innings with the Senators taking a 2 run lead into the 7th. Closer Pedro Clemente was able to slam the door shut to secure the Senators first win of their 2020 season and their first win under the loving wings of their new skipper.

During his post game press conference when asked what contributed to the win Coach Seymour, known as the Sexual Tyrannosaur of the WMWBL, stated "Bennie was here so I didn't have to play the field. Adam Corey finally got here so I only had to catch 3 innings, the rest was all Gods work".
