Fiorita Still On Hot Streak
Righty Dan Fiorita completed a stellar week by winning a pitchers' duel over Trung Duong and the Mississauga Cardinals 5-2. Fiorita who pitched eight innings six days ago, and then caught on the weekend, went another strong eight innings, allowing seven hits and striking out seven. Duong went seven innings for the Cardinals. Closer Chetan Gandhi worked a perfect ninth for his first save.
Chris Micolino, Fab Vazzano, and Rob Rivers each had two hits for the Cards, while Steve Foley and Eric Foley had three hits piece for the Diamonds, with Steve belting his fifth home run of the campaign.
Next Diamonds' action is tonight (July 3rd) versus the Vaughan Expos.
