The home Archers would raise their championship banner on opening night in front of raucous crowd, but Ooff! would be eager to crash the party and get the win in in what was also their opener. Ooff! would have a whale of a first period, outshooting he Archers 15-8, going into the second with a 1-0 advantage: Tommy "The Mayor" McNulty would go high from Captain Andrew Ruffino, after Ruffino would bank a pass off the boards in the neutral zone to McNulty. Dean Bogner would be there for all eight Archers shots, making some impressive saves on Jason Fischbach. Tyler Armstrong would nearly match Bogner, with 14/15 saves. The second period would begin with more great goaltending, as Bogner and Armstrong would control the game and freeze the puck when needed. With the momentum being broken up by the whistles, neither team could mount as much as they would have liked, but the Archers would finally level it when Captain Jason Fischbach would receive a pass from Dan Seminara and fire home with a laser from just inside the blue line. The game would continue with an Armstrong save on Andrew Lorenc, but Ooff! wouldn't be discouraged, and have Chris Fagan demonstrate his speed with a rush that would result in their second goal. The period would end 2-1 Ooff!, who would also lead on shots at 30-20. The third period would begin with a goal by Jaclyn "The Sniper" Scopel, who would light the lamp when she released a rocket on the ice from Jimmy DiPaolo assisted. The Archers were now down by two and would have to work quickly if they were to get anything out of this game, and they would do just that with Jason Fischbach from Kyle Fischbach. But Ooff! was able to cancel that out with Jimmy DiPaolo from The Mayor for 4-2, before DiPaolo would add another his second goal, when off the ensuing faceoff he went right in and seemingly effortlessly increased it to 5-2. With the clock the enemy of the Archers, they would have to figure something out immediately; the Archers would do just that, with Josh Sumoski from Greg "The Chairman" Chierchie. Time would continue to wind down and the Archers would pull Armstrong, ultimately clawing back to down 5-4, with Jason Fischbach (for his hat trick goal) from Kyle Fischbach, but they would get no closer, as Ooff! would take all three points by that final. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award Was won by Jimmy DiPaolo (2G, 1A).
