The Hooligans and The Clinic Club would begin with some up and down play, but it was the Hooligans who would go ahead when Keith Plescia would finish from Mike Leong and Robert Friedman. After a trip to Chris Vitale, the Hooligans would go down a man, but would score during his stay in the box when Friedman poked a puck away from The Clinic Club which Davey Leong would fetch and go down the ice with a head full of steam. A post and in wrister by Leong would make it 2-0, and Vitale would return to the ice with his team in better shape than before he took the penalty. Before the break, the Hooligans would add to their lead with Chris Gallo on a laser, and not only were the Hooligans up on goals (3-0), they were up on shots 13-4. The second period would be defined by quality goaltending: James Coughlin of the Hooligans would rack up the saves, while Scott Brady would continue to do the same. But eventually the pressure would lead to another Hooligans' goal, when Keith Plescia would have an opportunity on a breakaway, courtesy of Gallo, and beat Brady low. Brady's performance was to be lauded though, as he was the reason The Clinic Club was in it, and finally his play would be rewarded with Dave Winters firing on target and following his rebound to end Coughlin's shutout, now at 4-1. That score would hold going into the third period, with the Hooligans increasing their lead on shots 22-11. The third period would yield only one goal: Chris Vitale when he would fire off the post, as the Hooligans would win 5-1, with James Coughlin winning the Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award (1GA, 20 saves).
