Holy Book Hockey would jump out the gate with a pair of quick goals by Rich "The Barber" Barbiera, with the first from Joe Fallacaro, and the second from Scott Sullivan. The Barber would continue to clip the Pterodactyls' wings with a one-timer into a low corner from Sullivan and Mike Merfert, as he completed his natural hat trick, bossing the first period and carrying his crew to a 3-0 lead. But the Rich Barbiera Show, starring Rich Barbiera, wasn't done yet; Barbiera would fill the net two more times in the first period, his fourth was on a snipe from just inside the blue line, and his fifth was a wrister from the high slot, for 5-0 Holy Book Hockey and a lead of 13-9 on shots at the intermission. The second period was more Barbiera, who would notch his sixth goal, but the next Book Hockey goal would not be Barbiera's, and instead would be "Hollerin'" Dan Halleran, from Captain Dan Ford for 7-0. The Pterodactyls finally got on the board when Adam "APA Format" fired from the point, which was redirected into the roof of the net by Kyle "The Arsonist" Argent, then the Flying Fossils would creep closer when Adam "Manhandle" Crandall would cut into the slot from the right side on his forehand and quickly release a wrister for 7-2. Big Tony Gesumaria's trip would put the Pterodactyls short handed, and while they were down a man, Barbiera would bang in his seventh goal, and it was now 8-2. Fallacaro would add to his team's total with an unassisted goal , but the Pterodactyls would pull that one back when Gene Carrigan bundled in a puck after Zach "Z.Z. (pronounced Zed Zed)" Zakolski and The Arsonist would help. Now 9-3, it would go into the third period with running time, and Holy Book Hockey ahead on shots at 27-21. With the outcome nowhere near in doubt, the third period was mostly a non-event, with the only action on the scoresheet a goal by Sullivan from Hollerin' Halleran, and it would be 10-3 Holy Book Hockey, which would be the final. Holy Book would also finish ahead on shots at 37-29, as the Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Rich "The Barber" Barbiera (7G), in what was the easiest decision ever in determining whom will take home the honor.
