Ooff! and The Clinic Club were meeting for the first time ever, as The Clinic Club were looking to pick up their first win and/or points in franchise history. Ooff! would gain the upper hand when Gavin Costello would be assisted by Ed "The Giraffe" Jefferys, after a sweet criss cross which would result in The Giraffe dropping the puck off for Costello, who would go high. Not too long after Costello's goal, The Clinic Club would equalize when a pair of their new signings would link up: Glen Cullen would be the beneficiary of a pass by Dave Persson, and that 1-1 scoreline would hold going into the second period, with Ooff! leading on shots at 8-7. The second period would mostly be a slog, with neither team able to amount many shots; the second period shot total was 4-3 Ooff!, but one shot did go in: With eight seconds left in the period, after receiving the puck from Stephen "The Father" Priest, Mike Stapleton would fire a wrister on target, which would pull The Clinic Club ahead 2-1 going into the second period. The shot totals were now 12-10 Ooff!, but they would continue to trail for most of the third period. That would change when Gavin Costello would level it for Ooff!, then thirteen seconds later, Ooff! would leapfrog The Clinic Club with Chris Fagan from Brendan Kinney. All of a sudden, the game was turned on its head, and Onomatopoeia Crew was in line for all three points, if they could hold their lead. They would do just that and would suck the life out of the remainder of this game with some fine neutral zone spacing, as Chris Fagan, Dennis Costello, and Gavin Costello (all with one goal apiece) would win the Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award.
