After a feeling out process, which included the Berets killing off a Lux Interior power play, the game would open up. Each team would generate more offense, and the first goal of that offense would be by the Berets, when Milton Solis would wrist home after cutting across the middle. After Nuno Costa would prevent Lux Interior from leveling it when he used his pad, on the other end Pat Perez would fire off a slap shot from the blue line, which was deflected by Zach Ulloa, forcing Lynch into an impressive save with his chest. But that redirect would force a rebound, which would be whacked in by Ryan Hansen, as Ulloa and Perez picked up assists. The Berets would go into the second period up 2-0, but it was Lux Interior who would lead on shots at 10-9. This would be the second consecutive game Lux would be down two at the intermission, and last time, they would score the game's next four goals. This time, a similar response by Lux would come, when they would test Costa with three shots, but the Berets goalie would be up to the task. Lux would have a power play after a hold to Darren Kamikura, and they would make it count when they scored twenty seconds in, with Kevin "The 77 Train" Tucker on a one-timer from Tom "Don" Dwan and Chris Parliman. The Berets would have to recover, and would, with a low goal by Zach Ulloa, then a breakaway goal after Jon "Das" Boot would lead Joe Patrick, who would deke go five hole. So far, Spencer "The Truth" Truesdell was not on the scoresheet, but when he would receive the puck from Mike "Cruel" Carulli, would take off like a jet and fly down the right wing, scoring from an acute angle with a low wrister. Now 4-2, Ian Lynch would have to make a glove stop on Ulloa from the slot when there was only 1.7 seconds in the period, perhaps a moment that would save the game for Lux Interior. The shot totals were now 22-18 in favor of Lux Interior. The third period would begin with a Berets goal, Andrew Bzdula from Milton Solis, curtailing the momentum that Lux Interior thought they built. The Berets would then begin to press further, and go up 6-2, with Perez from Bzdula and Ralph Bowen. The shot totals in the third period were now getting lopsided, at 14-2 Berets, and it would be reflected in another goal, when Ulloa would finish from Perez. Now 7-2, the Berets would cap off the evening with Keith "The Fireball" Fimiani dashing down the ice after Costa would lead him out of their defensive zone. 8-2 would be the final, with the Berets outshooting Lux Interior 37-29, thanks to their massive third period output of 19-4. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Zach Ulloa (2G, 1A), Pat Perez (1G, 2A), and Nuno Costa (1A, 24 saves and 2GA).
