The Tropics would work fast with an early goal by NG Welsh from Kevin Morello, then would go 2-0 up with Peter Krzewinski. The Flying Dutchmen would halve their deficit when Jon Howard would whack in a rebound after Justin Klein fired a puck into the pad of David Thompson. Tommy Fisher would cancel out that Dutchmen goal from Krzewinski then they would repeat the feat for 4-1. The final goal of the first period would be Krzewisnki's, and it would be 5-1 Tropics, but 11-9 Dutchmen on shots. The Tropics would continue their strong performance in the second period, with John Bastardo from Eric Hoffman, then Dion Yan from Krzewinski and NG Welsh. Now 7-1, the Tropics would add another with Sam Welsh from NG Welsh and Rob Kaceroski for 8-1, and Hoffman from Tommy Fisher would follow. The next goal would be for the Flying Dutchmen, Captain Tony Desiderio unassisted, for 9-2, which would be the score going into the third period. The shots would be 20-15 Tropics, but the third period would be mostly a non-event, although Ryan Levy and Bastardo would increase it to 11-2. Klein would get into the goal column for the Flying Dutchmen, and at 11-3, it would be the final, with the shots at 30-23 Tropics. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Peter Krzewinski (2G, 3A).
