Lux Interior and Holy Book Hockey would play mostly evenly for the first few minutes, but it would be Holy Book would get on the board first when Mike Merfert would dazzle and dance around a few members of the Lux, and go high. Lux Interior would bounce back with the next few shots on target, but would be unable to beat Eric Brozek, and would instead concede to Merfert, who would be helped this time by Andrew Molesky. It would now be 2-0 to the Bookkeepers, who would gun for more, but Lux goalie Ian Lynch would get the better of Merfert when he would rob him with his glove on what would have been Merfert's hat trick goal. Lux would ride the momentum from Lynch, and halve their deficit when JC Stephane would one-time from Spencer "The Truth" Truesdell and Tom "Don" Dwan after a pretty lead up, and it was now 2-1. It would remain at that scoreline going into the second period, but it would not be Holy Book Hockey who would lead on shots, it would be Lux Interior, who would lead 9-5. The second period would begin with a bang for the Bookkeepers, who would go 3-1 up with Dan "Hollerin'" Halleran from Merfert, before he would notch another from Merfert and Steve Nierenberg. Most of the remainder of the period would go by before Lux Interior, now down 4-1, would get a respite, but when Doug "No Fly" Kramer would assist The Truth for Lux's second goal, perhaps things would change going into the third period. But before it could get to that third period, Lux would go down a man after a hook to Stephanek, and give up a power play goal when Merfert would finally complete his hat trick from Nierenberg. Holy Book would go into the third period up 5-2, but down on shots 16-13. Lux Interior would have an early third period opportunity when Captain Parks would feed Kevin Tucker, who would find himself in the corner of the offensive zone. Tucker, who would be below the goal line, intelligently bank the puck off Brozek's pad and in, and it was 5-3. On the next shot, Lux would further narrow their deficit, with a goal by The Truth, after he deked from Dwan. Now with their wits about them, Lux Interior would continue the attack, but a counter by Holy Book would pull the lead back to two, with Hollerin' Halleran from Merfert and Captain Dan Ford. Brozek and Lynch would then keep out every puck they faced, but that would be fine for Holy Book, who would take all three points, 6-4. The final shot totals would be 23-21 Lux Interior. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Mike Merfert (3G, 3A).
