A fancy finish by Austin Schoenig from Eduard Stulak and Alex Borowick, would put the Swarm ahead. The next Swarm goal would be Dan Volonnino on a one-timer from Frank "The Tank" Bason, Mike Wagner from Borowick would follow, and to cap off the first period scoring, Schoenig from Borowick and Stulak would do it. The Swarm would lead 4-0 and 10-4 on shots. After the intermission, the Swarm would pick up where they left off, with Borowick unassisted, but the Brewers would get on the board when Nick "Ticco" Monticchio would go five hole on a breakaway. The Brewers would come to life with another goal, Ticco on a flurry in front of the Swarm net from Sean "Babyface" Feeney and Eddie Butterman. Now down three, the Brewers would begin to press harder, but a counter by the Swarm, with Skyler "H To The" Izzo from Borowick would pull it to a four goal Swarm lead. The next goal would be Ticco's, for his hat trick, from Babyface and Esposito, and it would now be 6-3, and Ticco wristing high glove side from Babyface would mean 6-4. It would be a profound second period by the Brewers, who would halve their deficit and outshoot the Swarm 14-5, now leading on shot total at 18-15. The comeback would nearly be complete when Babyface would score on a rebound from Butterman and Ticco, but Dan Volonnino would score for the Swarm, and so would Schoenig for his hat trick goal from Jimmy "The Burner" Byrnes for 8-5. The Brewers would keep up the hope with a great deke by Butterman from Ticco, but Volonnino would add another, and it would now be 9-6, which would hold for the final. The shots would finish at 25 apiece. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Alex Borowick (2G, 4A).
