The first period would be defined by the goaltending of Mat Laskowski of the Sewer Rats and Dean Bogner of Ooff!, both of whom would make great saves along the way. Laskowski would stop all five shots he would face, every one of which was from a quality area, while Bogner would go 10/11, with the only blemish a high Eric Rogus goal from Evgeny Nikitin while shorthanded (after a hook to Eric Vogt). That 1-0 scoreline would hold going into the intermission, as both teams would draw up game plans to increase their offense. The second period would be when the Sewer Rats would distance themselves from Ooff!, starting with a goal by Mark Phelps from Nikitin, which would be followed by Boris Raizberg, unassisted. The Sewer Rats would now lead 3-0, and go into the third ahead by that amount, after as dominant of a period as they could have hoped, outshooting Ooff! 8-2, for a game total of 19-7. The Sewer Rats would pretty much put the game away with a power play goal (after a hold to Ray Sarlo) by Ralph Bowen. While Ooff! would pull back a goal with Jaclyn "The Sniper" Scopel, the Sewer Rats would cruise to a 4-1 win, with 25 shots compared to Ooff!'s 11. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Evgeny Nikitin (2A).
