The first period would begin with a blitz of three quick goals as the Tusks would build an early cushion: Nick Aloise would go high from Matt "Sly" Fox, Adam Sklar would double the lead from Aloise and Bobby Inman, and Sly Fox would round out the first period scoring from Erich Polak and Dan Panella. That monster Tusks period would come to an end, with them up 3-0 and leading on shots 19-8. The second period would begin with more Tusks action, Robert Neuwirth from Polak for 4-0, and Sly Fox from Polak would bring it to 5-0, which would hold for the third period. The shot totals would now be 27-17 Tusks, who would be outshot 10-8 in the second period. In net for the Tusks, Carter Siani would be having a quiet, due to the Tusks' offense, but fantastic game, keeping the Flying Dutchmen out. Along the way, he would have a glove save on Ryan "The Labrador" Labos, and would use his pad to kick away a low Dave Vogel effort. Eventually though, the Dutchmen would get on the board, with Jon Howard from Justin Klein, but that would quickly be pipped back with Anthony "The Inferno" Inverno, who would deke for a forehand finish, and it would now be 6-1. The Tusks would then go shorthanded when Kevin Geiger would be assessed a trip, but while he would be in the box, Neuwirth would go low from Panella, for 7-1. That scoreline would remain for the final, in a profound win for the Tusks, who would lead on shots 45-32. The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Matt "Sly" Fox (2G, 1A), and Nick Aloise (1G, 2A). An honorable mention goes to Tusks goalie Carter Siani, who would have 1GA, 31 saves on 32 shots.
