Tropics Cool Off Flaming Dragon II
The Tropics would begin with some strong play, which would eventually culminate in a goal when NG Welsh would finish on a low puck from John Bastardo and Mark Fisher. The Tropics would continue to be on the attack, but would be unable to double their lead, and instead, Flaming Dragon II would come to life. After a trip to Sam Kanda, Dragon would go on a power play, and immediately make it count when off the faceoff, Jake "The Snake" Worby would level it from Ernie "Big Ern" Park and Andrew "Lil 'Drew" Park. Flaming Dragon would then take the lead with a late first period goal by Tyler Mishchenko from Osvold, and it would go into the second period with Dragon ahead 2-1 but behind on shots 12-9.

The Tropics would quickly pip back Dragon with a goal by Kevin Morello from Peter Krzewinski and NG, which would be followed by John Bastardo from Kyle Smith. Now 3-2 Tropics, it would be Flaming Dragon's turn to pull back the lead, with Ozzy on a breakaway, and when Big Ern would go off the bar pipe and in from The Snake, it would be 4-3 Dragon. The Tropics would then pour in the goals, with four on four consecutive shots: First it would be Morello from Sam Welsh and NG Welsh, next would be Tommy Fisher unassisted, now 5-4, NG Welsh from Kyle Smith and Tommy Fisher would double the Tropics' lead, and finally, Morello from Mark Fisher would bring it to 7-4. That would be all the scoring in the second period, and the Tropics would go into the break also leading on shots, 23-18.

The third period would be mostly Flaming Dragon II, but they would have to contend with a Tropics power play after Adam "Manhandle" Crandall would be called for a hook. But while short, Tyler Mishchenko would bang in a rebound after Steve "Ozzy" Osvold would fire into David Thompson's pad. The Tropics would pip that goal back with a power play goal by NG Welsh, for his hat trick, from Ryan Fisher and Tommy Fisher. Now 8-5, there would be little left to do except play out the remainder of the game, which would only see a Big Ern goal from The Snake and Lil 'Drew, which would make it 8-6, and hold for the final. The final shot totals would be 31-25 Flaming Dragon II, thanks to a third period in which they outshot the Tropics 13-2; the third period hero would be David Thompson of the Tropics, who made 11/13 saves and would ensure his crew would win.

The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was NG Welsh (3G, 1A).
