The Pterodactyls would only have five skaters, and would appear to be up against it all night. They would have to rely on the goaltending of Jeff Leidner to keep them in it, and he would do so with some saves from point blank range. Leidner's phenomenal goaltending would be rewarded with a Pterodactyls goal when Chris LaTourette would fire from the point, which would be redirected in by Adam "Manhandle" Crandall. Up 1-0, the Pterodactyls would continue to rely on Leidner, who would help lead them into the second period ahead, with 15 saves, and would be outshot 15-8. Unsurprisingly, the second period would be more Lux Interior offense, but they would not yet be able to level it. It would continue on 1-0 Pterodactyls, as Leidner would keep racking up the saves. The second period would end with it still 1-0 Pterodactyls, as Lux Interior would lead on shots 30-14. Leidner would continue to dazzle as the Lux Crew would fire off puck after puck, with nothing to show. Eventually a goal would come, but it would be for the Pterodactyls when Manhandle would poke a puck through the Lux defense and go in on a breakaway. The Pterodactyls would finally have some breathing room, but that breathing room would be done away with when an immediate Lux Interior goal, Chris Parliman from Captain Rich Parks, would follow. Now with the confidence they could actually elude Leidner, Lux Interior would feel like they could get another past him, but Leidner would not surrender, and the Pterodactyls would hold it down for a 2-1 win, with just five men. This historic win would see Jeff Leidner win the Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award, with 47 saves on 48 shots, replay to come on ESPN Classic.
