The Hooligans and The Clinic Club would play a classic, which would be highlighted by the goaltending of James Coughlin (Hooligans) and fill-in Jeff Leidner (The Clinic Club). The first period would be mostly Hooligans, who would frequently test Leidner, but would so far be unable to beat him. On the other end, Coughling would hold up as well, with it going into the second period scoreless and the Hooligans leading on shots at 15-7. The second period would finally see the Hooligans get on the board with a goal on a rebound by Big Davey Leong, after Mike Leong would fire a puck from Mike Dillon. The Hooligans would press for more, but Leidner wouldn't allow another, as the frustration would mount for the Rioters. But it wouldn't be too much frustration, because Coughlin would continue to answer the call and rack up another seven saves this period, which would end at 1-0 on goals and 27-14 on shots for the Hooligans. The Hooligans would continue to pepper Leidner, while also providing some robust neutral zone play to prevent The Clinic Club from gathering any momentum or generating any chances. Leidner would keep up his great performance, but The Clinic Club could not get much on Coughlin, with only four shots on target this period. The all around team performance by the Hooligans would result in a 1-0 win, with a shot output of 37-18, but it would be Jeff Leidner (34 saves on 35 shots), who would take home the Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award with honorable mention going to Coughlin for his shutout with 18 saves. Another Hooligans win, this one vaults them from third place into second, now five points behind Ooff! for first place, and one point ahead of both the Archers and Sewer Rats, although the Sewer Rats have a game in hand. The Hooligans' next opponent is the Vudoos, who took down the Hooligans 8-2 in their only meeting this season. The Clinic Club are still in search of their first points as a franchise, but are getting closer with each game and will get another crack at it in their next game, against the Archers, who defeated The Clinic Club 5-0 in their previous and only meeting so far.
