In the first period, it would be all goaltending, with Nuno Costa of the Berets and Jeff Leidner of the Pterodactyls. Costa would rack up ten saves, while Leidner would accrue nine, with each having highlight reel efforts along the way: Costa with his blocker, and Leidner with his pad. The second period would be where the Berets would separate themselves from the Pterodactyls, with a goal, nine seconds in, by Milton Solis from Pat Perez. The next Berets' goal would come 1:43 later, Andrew Bzdula from Ryan Hansen and Christian Solis, which would be followed by Keith "The Fireball" Fimiani, who would go high from Joe Patrick, just 41 seconds later. Nine seconds after The Fireball would make it 3-0, Perez would add a goal from Patrick and The Fireball, and it would now be 4-0. The Berets' four goal outburst, in a span of 2:33 would springboard them to a victory in which they would win by that final. Along the way, Costa would boss the Pterodactyls, and finish with 35 saves (the Berets would have 46 shots) for a shutout and the Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award for his phenomenal performance.
